NOT JUST HIP HOP ANYMORE...
The Edge is proud to feature the finest dance program in Southwest Florida. We strongly believe that dance is one of the greatest venues for self-expression and encourage our dancers to 'find their voice'. Our classes are taught by professional, accomplished dancers, who recognize the importance of joy within the dancer, and work tirelessly to bring that joy to life. Diversity and individuality is not only recognized, but encouraged here. Everyone has their own style. At The Edge, that style is developed and utilized to form self-esteem, and technique is taught and interwoven. It is by using this concept that The Edge has been recognized nationally for its accomplishments in Hip Hop. We now bring that same drive and dedication to the classical world. We have sought the top professionals in each area of dance and brought them on board to form our staff (please see our instructor bios). These professionals share our philosophy and desire to continue the tradition of excellence that The Edge has become so known for.
We offer classes for dancers starting at age 3, in all styles, for all age groups, at all levels, through and including adult. We feature ongoing classes, with no commitment and no minimums. Although we're pretty sure you'll love it, we encourage you to come watch a class and see what we do, and how much fun we have. We offer REAL DANCE for REAL PEOPLE, and we have a great time doing it.
In addition to our classes,The Edge is home to The Edge Dance Troupes, our award-winning, nationally recognized competitive and show crews, who perform at shows around Southwest Florida and beyond, and attend conventions and competitions around the country.Our competitive and show crews dance and train with pros such as Tyce Diorio, Mia Michaels, Wade Robson, Shane Sparks, NappyTabs (Napoleon & Tabitha), Dan Karody, Mandy Moore, Brian Friedman, Lauren Gottlieb (all from "So Ya Think You Can Dance"), Barry Youngblood and Nick Florez (both currently touring with Janet Jackson, Britney Spears and JLo), Cris Judd, Dave Scott, Laurie-Ann Gibson (from P-Diddy's Making The Band), Eddie Garcia, Paula Abdul, Nancy O'Meara, Rob Hoffmann (You Got Served), and many others.
Whether you're looking to get seriously immersed in Dance, or just want to take a few classes for fun, we're sure to offer classes and programs to suit your needs.
